Mick Turner
Founder / Director

Our Founder, Mick, bought his first commercial property on the banks of the Nerang River in 1954. Since then, he has acutely run multiple businesses; acquiring, transforming, and disposing of numerous properties along the way. Together with his wife, Judy, he has raised a large family set across 4 generations. Mick’s success in business has allowed him to employ hundreds of Queenslanders, and give back to the Gold Coast community through a range of charities, including sports clubs and surf live saving clubs. While Mick takes a more passive role these days, he remains the steady hand that guides the success of the Turner Group of Companies.

Peter Turner

Responsibility for all key investment decisions rests with Peter Turner. Peter is Mick’s son, and has been involved in the management of the Turner Group of Companies for 30 years. Although traditionally focusing on Queensland, Peter is willing to travel extensively in pursuit of the right acquisition. Amongst other successful residential, commercial and industrial projects, Peter has successfully navigated the entire property development process at the $80M Yatala Logistics Hub. The project included an acquisition of raw land, clearing, application for development approvals, development including rock blasting, through to Titles, and the delivery of construction-ready parcels up to 3.5 hectares.

Paul Scanlon
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Paul Scanlon is the Turner Group’s Chief Financial Officer. He is responsible for cashflow management, risk assessment, and the general financial health of Turner Family Properties, alongside the other businesses in the Turner Group of Companies. His accounting and financial acumen, alongside his experience leading and managing his own businesses, makes him well-placed to undertake the duties of a CFO. His core duties include revenue and expense management, financial planning, business strategy, and maintaining the relationship with our external accountants.

Douglas Miller
Sales Executive

Douglas is one of our sales executives, and assists Peter in delivering material for our key projects. He assists in all aspects of both acquisitions and disposals, including correspondence, liaising with consultants, engaging with prospective buyers, and preparing key reports. Douglas has worked for the Turner Family for almost 20 years, following his father, Russel’s 50-plus years of service. Douglas has a wealth of commercial experience, and is an integral part of the Turner Family’s operations.

James Turner

James is Mick’s grandson, and Peter’s son, making him a third-generation member of the business. With a Bachelor of Laws and Commerce from Griffith Uni, and both a Masters of Laws from Bond and an MBA from Sydney Uni, he is well-placed to liaise with our external legal counsel in managing commercial and legal matters. James has prior experience staffing for a Federal MP, working as a Director of Corporate Affairs, and practising as a Corporate and Commercial Lawyer in Sydney. His focus areas include assessing prospective acquisitions, due diligence, contracts, leases, and corporate governance of the Group.

Tarah Wadsworth

Our respective companies’ administration and daily finances are handled by Tarah. She is responsible for the record-keeping, management of billing and accounts, and the engagement with key consultants on Peter’s behalf. Tarah also works closely with the CFO in managing the cashflow of Turner Family Properties.
